Oakwood appoints Martin Fluck as director of operations for North Asia

Japan: Oakwood Worldwide has promoted Martin Fluck to director of operations for North Asia.

Fluck will report to PG Mathew, Oakwood managing director, and will manage operations in China, Japan and South Korea. A yet-to-be-named director will lead operations for South Asia, including India, Thailand and the Philippines.

In this capacity, Fluck will strategically manage 15 of the Oakwood-branded serviced apartment properties. He will “play a pivotal role in driving productivity, improving service quality and establishing strategic direction to achieve performance objectives”.

Most recently, Fluck served as country manager for Japan, while at the same time serving as the general manager for Oakwood Premier Tokyo Midtown, the brand’s flagship property in Japan.

Prior to joining Oakwood Worldwide, Fluck served in various management positions with both Hilton Hotels & Resorts and Hyatt Hotels & Resorts. He is a graduate of Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne.
