UK: Thames Valley serviced apartment operator House of Fisher has launched a bike rental scheme for guests, with its hub at the 100 Kings Road aparthotel in Reading.

As well as supplying the bikes free of charge, subject to a deposit, House of Fisher supplies safety helmets, bike chains and locks, and information and advice on local cycle maps and routes.

The bikes can be reserved in advance, subject to availability, and secure storage is available at many of the House of Fisher properties.

House of Fisher staff will also be using the bikes for short journeys between properties.

House of Fisher chairman John Fisher said: “It made a lot of sense to create a scheme where our guests could instantly access everything they need for cycling in Reading. Many guests staying in our apartments work in the business parks dotted around the town and most of these have readily accessible cycle routes for cycling to work. If it proves to be successful we can then look into extending the scheme further in the near future.”
