Singapore: Oakwood Worldwide has appointed Dean Schreiber as managing director for the company’s portfolio of 28 Oakwood branded serviced apartment properties in Asia Pacific.
In this capacity, Schreiber will “establish and execute the strategic direction for the business unit and oversee the growth of the brand throughout the region”.
Schreiber will report to Bill Foltz, Oakwood Worldwide senior vice president and chief financial officer, and will serve as part of a new regional leadership team “designed to strengthen the company’s ability to identify and pursue development opportunities for the organisation”.
Schreiber brings nearly 30 years of global experience to his role, including assignments in Asia Pacific and the Middle East and has extensive experience in property development, new property openings, general management and hotel operations for five-star and luxury brands including Pan Pacific Hotels Group, Starwood, IHG, Century International and Harbour Plaza Hotels.
Foltz said; “Dean is joining us at a very exciting time following the announcement of our recent $4 billion joint venture with Mapletree, which will deliver a healthy pipeline of development opportunities within key Asian markets. His depth and breadth of hospitality expertise will be invaluable to leading the global expansion of the Oakwood brand.”
Schreiber graduated from Höhere Lehranstalt für Fremdenverkehr in Krems, Austria where he completed a two-year diploma in hotel management. Schreiber will operate out of the Oakwood regional headquarters in Singapore.
