UK: Serviced Apartment News has commissioned London artist Helen Brough to design the trophies for the inaugural Serviced Apartment Awards.
The inaugural awards are taking place at the Grange Tower Bridge Hotel in London on March 21st. They are the first and only dedicated awards created for and by the serviced apartment, aparthotel, extended stay and short term rental industry.
Helen’s design will result in a unique and memorable trophy for the award winners, with a distinctive London theme to echo the 2016 awards’ host city. Helen is a painter, drawer, sculptor, and installation artist. She studied at Chelsea School of Art in London, achieving B.A.Honours First Class and an M.A in sculpture. Her awards in England include the Prix de Rome prize at the British school in Rome, and the Prince Charles travel scholarship. She has exhibited her work in the UK, the US, Romania, Hungary and Denmark.
She said: “I am delighted to be involved in the design and fabrication of the Serviced Apartment Awards. Working with the designer Emmett Roepke, I have produced a trophy that we wanted to be more of a limited edition artwork than the usual award trophies that are available. Inspired by the iconic shape of the river Thames and the unique geography of the capital, we wanted to produce a piece that strongly identifies with London.”
“The key to the success of the inaugural awards is to do things a little differently, and to truly stand out amongst the hospitality sector. The awards promise to bring the sector together as we applaud winners who can stand out amongst their peers. I’m delighted Helen has taken the design opportunity” said Jennifer Cass, Marketing and Event Executive, IHM.
Being free to enter and fully inclusive, the awards are open to all serviced apartment aparthotel, extended stay and short term rental operators, alliances, providers and suppliers worldwide. No matter the size of your company, everybody has an equal chance of winning pre-submission and the judging panel promise to recognise excellence at corporate and individual levels.
There are categories for properties, operators, service providers, agents, marketing campaigns, innovation and individuals.
