AUSTRALIA: Hong Kong-based Langham Hotel Group, is opening a beachfront hotel with serviced apartments on the Gold Coast in June.
The Langham, Gold Coast and Jewel Residences will be the first beachfront hotel opening for 30 years for the brand.
The property is in the Surfer’s Paradise development’s central tower.
Jeffrey van Vorsselen, Regional vice president, operations – Pacific & South East Asia said: “Opening our first beachfront property in one of the world’s most desirable travel destinations is an incredible milestone, giving Australians and international travellers a new level of luxury beach resort experience through The Langham lens. The Gold Coast is a rich and diverse landscape which offers everything from rainforest adventure and golden beaches to vineyards and farmers markets which we want to introduce to our guests, travelling for leisure or business.”
The Langham, Gold Coast will offer 169 rooms, including 17 suites and a presidential suite with sea views.
The Jewel Residences are in the same building from floors 22 to 49 and feature two-, three- or four-bedroom serviced apartments with separate living and dining areas, as well as kitchens.
In a nod to The Langham, London, the hotel’s Palm Court lounge will offer the trademark Afternoon Tea.
There also be a pool bar and terrace, as well as a Cantonese restaurant and a beachfront cafe.
The hotel and apartments is open for bookings from today and will open on June 23rd.
The Langham, Gold Coast is the latest addition to the Langham Hospitality Group’s Australian portfolio, joining two luxury hotels in Sydney and Melbourne.
Langham Hospitality also teamed up with Omniyat for a Dubai serviced apartments and hotel in 2015.
