ASIA: Ascott’s Somerset Serviced Residence brand has 43 properties in the pipeline with 16 to open in Asia this year.
Another 14 will open next year while there are plans for five more of the extended stay offerings in 2024 and a further eight in 2025.
Three of the properties in the pipeline are in the pre-opening stages and 26 are under construction, with the rest still at the planning stage of the process.
The properties will be spread across Asia with 26 in China, four in Malaysia and three in Vietnam.
Recent openings this year include the 210-key Somerset Gaoxin Chengdu (pictured). The Chengdu property, which is located 30 minutes’ drive from the international airport, is part of the Chengdu Vanke Centre mixed-use development in the Chengdu High-Tech Industrial Development Zone. It offers a range of accommodation from studio to one, two and three-bed apartments.
It also features a swimming pool, fitness centre, childrens’ playground and meeting rooms.
The property is close to the Chengdu Century City New International Convention and Exhibition Centre and New Century Global Centre.
Ascott recently launched its Somerset Residences in Kenya with its first property located in the capital Nairobi.
