NEW ZEALAND: One of the largest serviced apartment companies in New Zealand has asked developers to ‘get in touch’.
Quest Apartment Hotels New Zealand plans to open 10 new properties over the next three years across the country.
The brand will continue with its franchise-based business model and is building on its plans from earlier this year.
CEO, Stephen Mansfield said: “We don’t consider ourselves in the business of property development or property ownership. Our status is primarily as a tenant, but we certainly engage with our stakeholders in the development phase and then of course in an ongoing basis with our landlords. Every year, we review and assess our business and the marketplace, identifying where new Quest site growth is warranted which we then share with our development partners.”
Three of the new properties will open soon – all in New Zealand – including Quest Hastings and Quest Mt Maunganui in the first half of next year. Quest on Cambridge in Christchurch is set to open next summer.
Other locations for the seven other Quest properties include Whangarei, New Plymouth, Hamilton, Wellington and Dunedin as well as five more in Auckland – Greenlane, Ellerslie, Onehunga, Grafton and the CBD.
Quest has a portfolio of 40 properties in New Zealand as well as the Quest Suva in Fiji (pictured). In spite of the pandemic and the challenges it has brought, Quest also managed to open five new properties in New Zealand’s North Island in Takapuna, Mt Eden, Palmerston North and most recently Quest Lambton 256 in Wellington.
