UK: Meliá Hotels International has revealed the £40 million transformation of its flagship UK hotel and serviced apartments, Meliá White House.

The four-star deluxe hotel is alongside Regent’s Park, near central London, and Primrose Hill.

The architecture and interior project team, ASAH was behind the renovation. The 1930s Grade II listed building, Meliá White House, is now a destination hotel with 581 bedrooms and suites, restaurant, bar, meetings spaces, lobby and members-style The Level service and lounge. The property also includes 111 long-stay apartments, a 24-hour fitness studio and 9 meeting and events spaces.

The Level at Meliá White House premium service offers a luxury suite with personalised attention and access to The Level lounge, that has complimentary drinks, snacks and tapas. It has its own entrance for guests on Longford Street and has 581 bedrooms including deluxe double and premium, family rooms and suites.

Whilst the landmark site remained open to guests throughout its renovation period of five years, the renovations now provide access to the restaurant and bar directly from the lobby as guests enter the hotel. Each space has been designed to be part of one another and so there are no doors or barriers in public spaces, so guests are able to easily move from one space to another.

Arado Restaurant is Meliá White House’s in-house restaurant with a Mediterranean inspired gastronomy. It’s headed up by food and beverage director Alberto Jonte, who’s worked for Meliá for more than five years. He previously worked as executive chef at ME Ibiza. ’35 Bar & Lounge is a bar at the hotel that provides morning coffee as well as pre-dinner drinks.

Garry Fortune UK director of operations, Meliá Hotels International, said: “We are delighted to be able to finally reveal this five-year transformation, which has seen Meliá Hotels International invest £40million into our flagship UK hotel. Meliá White House is a London landmark, a distinguished 1930s building, that’s been given a new lease of life for these modern times. We’ve created a truly stunning hotel, restoring the art deco style, and bringing our main social and dining spaces to the front of the hotel. And our first-class service lounge, The Level now has an encapsulating Mediterranean-feel; Meliá White House is a true destination hotel.”
