UK: Plans have been submitted to transform a pub in Hebden Bridge, Yorkshire, into an aparthotel, giving the site a new lease of life if approved.
Wayth-Hebden Bridge Ltd has applied to Calderdale Council to convert the Crown Hotel, located on the corner of Crown Street and Cheetham Street, from a public house with letting rooms into a public house with 16 aparthotel rooms.
If approved, the building will be renamed The Civic Hall to reflect its previous history.
According to the application, the aparthotel model will combine apartment-style accommodation with automated hotel booking systems, providing flexibility for visitors.
The proposal also includes refurbishing the existing ground floor bar and pub area, with plans to rent out the space to continue its use within the community.
Wayth-Hebden Bridge Ltd is run by two local business owners with established links to the area and is part of Wayth Hotels, which already operates The Briarcroft aparthotel in Goole, East Yorkshire.
Calderdale Council will consider the application at a later date.
