UK: Urban Living Festival (ULF), London’s cutting edge networking and educational event for the living, hospitality and flex workspace sectors, is delighted to be working with global home furnishings brand IKEA.
IKEA will provide furniture for the event’s eight content streams as well as dressing the main stage at ULF’s London venue – Mary Ward House.
The Urban Living Festival (ULF) focuses on the future of global urban living, addressing trends and innovations in the residential, hospitality, and mixed-use real estate sectors. It brings together senior professionals, investors, developers, owners, operators, policymakers and service providers to shape the future of urban development, hospitality concepts, sustainability, technology and innovation.
Asset classes under the microscope in a range of panels, presentations and round tables include BTR, PBSA, coliving, later living, flex workspace, hotels, serviced apartment and short-term rentals. New for this year is the AI Lounge, a dedicated content stream looking at the impact of AI across hospitality and real estate.
IKEA is a globally recognised home furnishings brand known for its affordable, flat-pack furniture, modern Scandinavian design, and commitment to sustainability.
Founded in Sweden in 1943 by Ingvar Kamprad, IKEA has grown into one of the world’s largest retailers, operating in over 60 countries with hundreds of stores and a strong online presence.
The company’s mission is to “create a better everyday life for the many people” by offering well-designed, functional home solutions at prices that are accessible to the majority. IKEA is renowned for its unique self-service retail model, in-house product design, and immersive showroom experiences.
IKEA is committed to ambitious sustainability goals, including reducing its climate footprint by 50 per cent by 2030 (compared to FY16 baseline year) and by at least 90 per cent by 2050.
Following the Festival, all furniture provided for the event by IKEA will be returned to an IKEA store in London for resale in the retailer’s Re-Shop and Re-Use – a circular hub where customers can buy or sell pre-owned, returned, or discontinued IKEA furniture at a lower price. This space is designed to promote circularity by reducing waste and giving pre-loved furniture a second life.
George Sell, editor of Urban Living News and curator of the ULF agenda, said: “We’re delighted to be working with IKEA, a brand synonymous with cutting edge design, innovation and sustainability, and look forward to seeing how its furniture and design will transform our event venue.”
Asa Fermandell, IKEA Business leader UK&IE, added: “The Urban Living Festival is a great opportunity for us to connect with industry leaders across a range of real estate asset classes and to showcase our products and services, including the IKEA for Business Network which was launched in 2020. The programme is free to join and offers a range of benefits and support for any business from Interior design service, member discounts, perks for your people to mention a few. I look forward to attending the event and discussing how IKEA for Business can support your needs.”
