Denmark: Serviced apartment provider Movinn has promoted Andreas Bækgaard Thaning from head of finance to CFO, effective 1 June 2026.
Bækgaard Thaning joined Movinn in August 2024 and most recently led the company’s finance department.
As CFO, he will assume full responsibility for financial planning and analysis, controlling, and investor relations.
Bækgaard Thaning succeeds Jesper Thaning, who has served in the CFO role since 2021 and will now transition to the company’s board of directors. As founder, Thaning remains Movinn’s largest shareholder.
CEO of Movinn, Patrick Blok, said: “Since joining the team, Andreas has strengthened our finance section in multiple areas and appointing him CFO is the natural next step – both for him and for Movinn. Andreas knows the business inside out and there is no better fit, in my opinion, as we continue to scale the business and prepare for the opening of our Amager apartment hotel.
“I am happy that Jesper continues to be actively involved in Movinn in his founder capacity. Jesper’s commercial knowhow and operational experience remain a cornerstone of how we build and grow Movinn, and the combination of Jesper’s perspective and Andreas’ specialised skillset in finance, gives us a stronger platform to execute on our profitability and growth ambitions.”
The appointment comes as Movinn prepares to open a 95-unit aparthotel at Amager in Copenhagen in mid-2027.
