Switzerland: Digital hospitality platform NUMA Group has signed its first asset in Basel with owner Ecoreal Schweizerische Immobilien Anlagestiftung.
The property is a new-build development designed by Monoplan. The site occupies the former Hotel Basilisk, which was operated by the Cavegn family across three generations before the property was sold in 2021.
Following a full redevelopment, the purpose-built Numa asset will feature 60 keys and is scheduled to open in H2 2027.
Dimitri Chandogin, co-founder of NUMA Group, said: “Basel is a highly relevant next step for NUMA in Switzerland. After Zurich, this project expands our Swiss footprint into another strong urban market with deep corporate and international demand. This signing brings together everything we look for: a purpose-built asset, a strong institutional partner, and our digital platform. This is the growth model we want to scale across Europe — always built around a better guest experience.”
Florian Diener, head of construction and development at Ecoreal, added: “We are pleased to partner with NUMA Group on this development in Basel. The project combines strong architectural quality with an innovative hospitality concept that aligns well with our long-term investment strategy. Together, we are creating a future-ready asset that responds to the evolving needs of urban living and travel.”
