To attract the likes of Stephen McCall from a top role at IHG is quite a coup, and one which demonstrates that with Brookfield’s financial might behind it, SACO, and particularly its Locke brand, is on the fast track.
McCall is an 18-year veteran at IHG, occupying a number of positions, culminating in COO for Europe, a role in which he was accountable for the performance of more than 750 managed and franchised hotels. The Glaswegian also has experience in fund management, working with Baring Asset Management on the Alchemy Investment Plan. He’s definitely a big hitter and it will be interesting to watch him apply his strategies at SACO.
I’d like to extend my best wishes to outgoing SACO CEO Stephen Hanton, who has overseen the company’s passage through a truly remarkable period of growth and change.
