It’s always exciting to see a new brand player enter the aparthotel market. Jitaku marks a very different offering from the luxury serviced living experience of The Residence, and given both brand’s focus on London, the launch will serve to establish greater presence and market share in an increasingly competitive city.

While hotels are in abundance, the aparthotel sector is fairly underrepresented in London. Some brands which spring to mind (by volume of properties in the capital) include Staycity, edyn, Adagio, Citadines, and Native. There’s opportunity provide more options for the growing remote workforce – one which requires a shorter-term alternative to the longer, extended stay model.

Steve Lowy, founder of Jitakau, says: “Our average length of stay [The Residence] is two months, and we felt like we were turning away a lot of business; 85 per cent of our enquiries are for under a week. We felt we could offer a similar, homely experience but in a shorter stay offering.” Watch the exclusive interview here, and read further details on the launch here.
