At last week’s Serviced Apartment Summit in London, there was a definite sense of a coming-of-age. More than 350 international delegates including owners, operators, investors, lenders and suppliers, attended a broad range of panel discussions and presentations as the collective charted to the next phase of the sector’s growth.

As well as the established players, there were several new entrants to the sector in attendance, and one of the best attended sessions was the New Kids on the Block panel, in which Jo Layton of the Apartment Service spoke to three recent entrants to the market about the challenges and opportunities that are facing them.

There were also some interesting new suppliers in evidence, including Airportr – a same day luggage collection, storage and delivery service operating between London airports and serviced apartments. The company is looking to build partnership with serviced apartment operators in the capital – email partners@portr.com for more information.
