Staycity has pulled off something of a coup by appointing Patrick Dempsey as a non-executive director.
Dempsey was the man who transformed the Premier Inn brand while he was managing director of Whitbread Hotels & Resorts. On his watch, Premier Inn expanded from 24,000 to 60,000 rooms in eight years.
Dempsey is excited by the serviced apartment sector in general and believes Staycity has significant potential for growth.
To be able to attract somebody of such standing from the hotel sector across to serviced apartments is a clear indication that our industry is making the wider hospitality sector sit up and take notice.
Staycity already has an ambitious growth plan in place, but with Dempsey’s input it would be no surprise to see the pace of expansion increase markedly.
