UK: Supercity Aparthotels has announced plans to open properties in central London and Watford.

The company has applied for planning permission to convert the former site of the Jewish Chronicle newspaper in Chancery Lane, central London, in to a 50-suite property with a gym and serviced offices, as well as retaining an existing pub on the site. The company paid £8.5 million for the building in February this year.

If permission is granted, the property will open in 2016.

The Watford property will feature 19 studios and 22 one-bedroom serviced apartments and is due to open in autumn 2015.

Alexis Burton, Supercity managing director, said: “These new acquisitions are testament to the success and hard work of the Supercity Aparthotels team. With growing understanding and demand for aparthotels amongst business travellers and tourists alike, we’re delighted to be growing and complimenting our existing portfolio in and around London.”
