US: Marriott International has opened its first serviced apartments in Xi’an, China, and Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The Fairway Place – Xi’an Marriott Executive Apartments is the brand’s seventh property in China and offers 159 serviced apartments, ranging from studio to three-bedroom units.
“Demand for long-term stay apartments for business travellers has grown tremendously within the past few years in Asia, especially in China. The Fairway Place – Xi’an, Marriott Executive Apartments is an example of how the long-term stay category has evolved and developed to accommodate the needs of this market segment,” said Henry Lee, chief operations officer, Greater China.
“Like other Marriott Executive Apartments, the property is designed to help extended stay travellers feel at home,” continued Lee. “The apartments are spacious, conveniently located and come with housekeeping service. Whether travellers stay here for project work or for relocation, they will find the Marriott Executive Apartments a home away from home.”
Located at the centre of Hi-tech development zone, which is a base for major corporations including Oracle and Fujitsu, and 40 minutes from the Xi’an Xianyang International Airport, the property has amenities including a 24-hours fitness centre, a kid’s garden and 24-hour concierge service.
The Addis Ababa property, opened in collaboration with Sunshine Business, is Africa’s first Marriott Executive Apartments development.
Located in downtown Addis Ababa, the property is close to Meskel Square in Bole and the UN-ECA headquarters and conference centre. The property is well connected with the Bole International Airport, African Union headquarters and Ethiopian National Museum.
It offers a choice between one- and two-bedroom serviced apartments as well as the Penthouse Presidential Suite. Each apartment has a fully-equipped kitchen, free Wi-Fi, satellite TV, and services such as housekeeping, grocery shopping and room service.
Marriott Executive Apartments currently has four properties in North Africa and, by 2020, Marriott plans to open 12 more across Africa.
