US: A 120-unit Staybridge Suites hotel will be built in Altoona, Pennsylvania.

The 90,000 square foot apart-hotel will be  located off Highway 53 in Altoona’s River Prairie Development. It will be owned and managed by a group led by Larson Companies, under a license agreement with InterContinental Hotels Group.

Larson Companies, a local construction company, and the City of Altoona have been working on a sales and development agreement over the past few months with the intent of beginning construction on the hotel this spring.

President of Larson Companies Thomas Larson said: “We strive to meet the physical and emotional needs of guests who spend time away from home. We want them to be comfortable, like a member of the family, not just another guest.”

The property will feature studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom suites equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, stovetop and dishwasher. The hotel will also offer complimentary hot breakfast buffets, social evening receptions, a 24-hour convenience store, free wireless, complimentary fitness room and laundry room open around the clock, business centre, IHG Rewards and a pet friendly environment.
