UK: Union Hanover’s hotel operations arm NOHO has appointed a new management team for its Urban Villa concept.

Martin Newbould has been appointed general manager of Urban Villa Brentford. He was previously the hotel manager of the Ace Hotel in Shoreditch and operations manager at The Hoxton. Newbould said: “I am both proud and excited to be joining the team at Urban Villa. I look forward to helping the brand establish itself in an exciting and vibrant market.

Joanna Stevens has been appointed director of sales. She was previously director of sales and marketing at the Chiswick Moran & Crown Moran Hotels for the past three years.  Prior to joining Moran Hotels, she served in management roles at IHG, Penta Hotels and Malmaison.

New revenue manager Kate Ciblik was previously senior cluster revenue manager UK for Ascott Group and the Cavendish Hotel, managing a cluster of 11 different European Ascott properties before joining Urban Villa.

Andrew Fowler, Union Hanover director of Hospitality, said: “We are delighted with the calibre of candidates that have applied to join Urban Villa. This is a very flattering endorsement of our product, its positioning and price in the current market. It’s particularly important for us to create a strong platform on our first project in order to develop our standard operating procedures, systems and strategies. The next 20 months allows us to fine tune and create a well-oiled operational machine ready for large growth in 2017 and 2018.”

“Our path-finding concept visioning team which has done a great job can now be replaced with a fully fledged management team. This will not only enhance the standard of hotel operations but will also drive forward the growth of sales and revenue,” added Fowler.
