Singapore: Oakwood Asia Pacific has appointed Sharon Seong as GM of the first Oakwood Studios property, which will open in November 2016.
Oakwood Studios Singapore will feature “stylish apartments with eclectic tech-enabled spaces, designed for independent travellers who want to seamlessly alternate between work and leisure. The properties will be located in key cities around the world known for their vibrant cultures”.
Before joining Oakwood, Seong was general manager of The Club Hotel on Ann Siang Road, and she has also worked for Ascott and Ibis Hotels. She will report to Craig Bond, vice president of Operations for South Asia and Southeast Asia, Oakwood Asia Pacific.
“The introduction of the Oakwood Studios brand marks a significant extension of the brand portfolio for Oakwood and we couldn’t be more pleased to have someone with Sharon’s skills and expertise opening our first Oakwood Studios property, and in such a cosmopolitan city like Singapore,” said Bond. “Her background in lifestyle marketing as well as her experience with serviced apartments and hotels gives her the unique skill sets to manage this property. We are very excited about her putting this property on the map.”
Seong holds a master’s degree in International Business Management from Edinburgh Napier University and a diploma in mass communication from the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside and Griffith University.
