Leading hospitality publisher and conference organiser International Hospitality Media has announced that JLL’s Hotels & Hospitality Group will be Platinum Sponsor of  the Serviced Apartment Summit Europe conference, taking place at the Park Plaza Victoria in London, on July 12 and 13.

The Serviced Apartment Summit conference and exhibition is the most prominent annual industry event for serviced apartments; aparthotels and the extended stay sectors to collectively share best practice, network, map the industry’s future and do business.

Launched in London in 2013, the Serviced Apartment Summit has grown rapidly each year. The London conference attracts more than 300 high level delegates and speakers from as far afield as Australia, Singapore, Kenya, Saudi Arabia, the Americas, India and across Europe. Further events were successfully launched in Dubai in 2015, and New York in 2016.

The 2016 event has already attracted speakers from outside the hospitality sector, and is co-located with the inaugural Short Term Rentalz conference. This new conference is designed to stimulate debate and foster the sharing of knowledge about short term rentals, one of the fastest growing and most vibrant leisure and business hospitality sectors anywhere in the world.

JLL’s Max Thorne, managing director, Hotels and Hospitality Group, who heads up the company’s newly formed serviced apartment/aparthotel team, is speaking at the Summit on the owners and operators panel. Thorne said: “JLL was the first property company to realise the growing importance of this sector, taking the lead in being the first commercial agency to commit resources and investment to a dedicated team led by me.  With a strong pipeline planned for London and increasing consolidation in the serviced apartment market, it’s important that investors, owners and operators understand the brave new world for serviced apartments as it grows in visibility.”

Max Thorne will also be talking about the new report launched by JLL into the sector, outlining trends in the serviced apartment market and predictions about what is to come.

Piers Brown, chief executive of International Hospitality Media, said: “We are delighted to welcome JLL as a top sponsor and Max as a speaker. As a major player in the hospitality and residential sectors, we welcome Max as an industry expert, and JLL is sure to become an influential force in the serviced apartment sector over the years to come.”
