France: Staycity Aparthotels has opened a 108-unit property in Marseille.
Staycity already operates an aparthotel in the busy and popular 10th district of Paris, minutes from the Gare de Paris-Est transport hub, and today adds Staycity Marseille to its expanding portfolio.
The property, in Marseille’s historical Vieux Port neighbourhood, is the company’s second French project, joining an aparthotel in the 10th arrondissement of Paris, near the Gare de Paris-Est transport hub.
Next month Staycity will open in Lyon, in a purpose-built, 144-unit development in the city centre.
CEO Tom Walsh said: “France has long been a mainstay in our expansion plans and we hope to add further properties in strategic sites in the coming years. These properties and our existing premises in Paris, provide us with a firm base in France, which will help build our reputation as the go-to aparthotel operator.”
Staycity Aparthotels feature a 24-hour reception, laundry facilities, and luggage storage with most properties also having a gym, car park, café and lounge area.
The company operates more than 3,000 apartments across 10 major cities in the UK and Europe, with expansion plans taking it to 15,000 apartments by 2021. Other openings over the next 12 months include Manchester (182 units), London Covent Garden (106 units) and Liverpool (202 units).
