US: BridgeStreet Global Hospitality will manage Town Place, a 62-key serviced apartment building at Forbes Avenue and Stanwix Street in downtown Pittsbur

Opening this spring, the 12-storey tower is a renovated former office building developed by Kossman Development Company.

It will feature 62 fully furnished studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments available on a short-term or long-term basis to business travellers.

Greg Kavanagh, BridgeStreet‘s regional vice president of operations, said: “Each unit will have a unique layout, views and ambiance. Five glass-enclosed penthouses will offer high-end living atop Pittsburgh with 360-degree views.”

Amenities will include fully-equipped kitchens, indoor parking, customised furnishings in loft-style settings and a dog park – a rarity for Downtown apartment dwellers.

Town Place will be the first Pittsburgh building entirely managed by BridgeStreet, which also has apartments nearby in the Encore, Clark Building and Alcoa Building.

Kossman Development president Curtis Kossman said: “The building is undergoing a complete top-to-bottom makeover. Everything from the lobby to the roof was stripped to its shell condition. We simply built everything new on top of a rock-solid structure originally built in the late 1920s.”

Communal areas will feature gaming devices, pool and ping-pong tables, an outdoor spa, a self-service bar and grill, and meeting and conference rooms. Retail space in the lower levels is likely to include a bank, coffee shop and hair salon. A lobby concierge, full-service gym and Rite Aid pharmacy will complete the on-site amenities.</p
