US: AKA, a global leader in luxury hospitality, has announced the opening of its second South Florida aparthotel.

Opening on December 1, AKA West Palm offers 215 apartments including studios, one- and two-bedroom as well as penthouse suites.

AKA West Palm is aimed at both business and leisure travellers as well as local people. All apartments include kitchens, washers and dryers, and private terraces, while public spaces offer an indoor/outdoor lounge and bar, pool and deck, gym, conference room and meeting areas, and a dedicated pet spa.

The aparthotel is located close to the events and cultural arts hub, Rosemary Square, and is within walking distance of historic Clematis Street, home to gourmet dining, luxury retail, and lively nightlife. A mile from the Brightline train station, AKA West Palm also offers a seamless commute from Fort Lauderdale and Miami.

The area is home to financial, legal, and consulting corporate headquarters, which have relocated from the Northeast.

Larry Korman, CEO of AKA said: “With an influx of visitors from the Northeast, we are already seeing interest from travellers familiar with the AKA brand and our properties in New York City, Philadelphia, and Boston. As West Palm’s reputation as ‘the Wall Street of the South’ develops, we are confident that those who are travelling for work will be delighted to make a home away from home at AKA.”

AKA bought and refurbished the building earlier this year. The other Florida property is Hotel AKA Brikell, AKA’s debut for Miami.
