UK: Aparthotel brand Aptel has opened its first property, launching with 33 keys in Spitalfields, east London.

Founded by entrepreneur Karan Uppal, Aptel aims to appeal to both corporate and leisure guests with fully serviced apartments equipped with high-tech energy efficient systems throughout.

The company says it maximises the use of technology to create a smooth experience on arrival and departure, where guests are provided with a unique access code to their designated suite via a touchscreen device – all while benefitting from the added assurance of a 24-hour concierge.

The first Aptel site, Aptel East, is located on Commercial Road, close to Whitechapel and Aldgate East tube stations. The 33 units include family suites for four people, and studio suites for double or single occupancy.

Karan Uppal, founder and CEO of Aptel, said: “When developing the Aptel model, I focused on striking a balance between offering all guests a modern, comfortable and stylish ‘home away from home’, with a seamless and safe experience. Since welcoming our first guests to Aptel East, we have received nothing but positive feedback, with many individuals commenting on the ease and safety of the tech-driven check in/out experience, particularly during the recent peak of COVID-19 cases within the city. I am excited about our growth over the next 12 months as more and more guests enjoy their stay at Aptel East and look forward to expanding our market share in the coming years.”

The brand aims to open further London and other UK city locations within the next 12 to 24 months.
