Northern Ireland: The Lotus Group, a developer creating offices in Belfast has changed its plans to an aparthotel.

The group which had planned to create the city’s “healthiest” offices has put in a change of use application with Belfast City Council to develop a 113-key city centre aparthotel.

The new aparthotel would replace the modern office development it was planning in the old Belfast Tax office, Beaufort House.

The development would offer a range of apartment sizes and there are plans for a ground floor bar and restaurant.

The location is next to student accommodation and is also close to another aparthotel under construction on Queen Street.

Another aparthotel has secured planning in Belfast this month and Room2 has announced it will open in Belfast next year.
