US: The Apartment Network has appointed a strategic advisor for The Americas as it reports positive half year results.

The figures relate to half year (January to June 2022) compared with the same period last year, and are up 45 per cent on the same period in 2019.

The figures are the result of The Apartment Network experiencing growth due to new client acquisitions in the US and Europe, and the return of business travel generally.

Marcos Isaac, CEO, The Apartment Network said: “This is a very exciting time for The Apartment Network as we expand operations in America. To support this growth, we are delighted to share that Greeley Koch has taken on the role of strategic advisor and director, the Americas, specifically to support our expansion in this market. We are honoured to welcome Greeley to the team.”

Koch has more than 25 years’ experience in the travel and hospitality sector and is particularly passionate in driving start-ups to their full potential. He previously served as a global procurement leader for various organisations, including Bank of America and Abbott Laboratories, as well as leading product development, marketing, and sales teams for a TMC, a data reporting company and a lodging services provider. He also served as the Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) executive director.

Koch said: “Traveller wellness and their experience when on the road is important to companies as they return to travel from the pandemic. We are seeing more interest in extended stay apartments to provide those travellers with a home like environment that keeps them productive during a long-term stay. I’m pleased to be supporting The Apartment Network, where the focus on blending service and technology recognizes the personal nature of extended stay bookings.”

With ambitious growth plans and the expansion of operations into North America and Europe, The Apartment Network is predicting a strong second half. The company believes confidence in business travel is returning and extended stay enquiries are growing and, as a result, there is increased interest in booking serviced apartments.

The Apartment Network’s average length of stay figures show the first half of 2022 saw an average length of stay of 51 nights, an increase of 11 per cent on the same period in 2019.

The same period in 2021 showed an average length of stay of 59 nights, driven by uncertainty throughout the pandemic that resulted in travel restrictions and extensions to accommodation bookings.

The Apartment Network also noted that relocation briefs are key, with pent-up demand evident from a dormant market in 2020 and 2021 and a now buoyant employment market. Hotspots in North America and the UK have seen The Apartment Network grow its network in these regions, taking on new suppliers in the serviced apartment sector.

In February this year The Apartment Network appointed Angela Eisenblaetter as commercial director for the DACH region.
