Djibouti: The Ascott Limited will launch its first property in Djibouti and its 12th in Africa by entering into a partnership with local real estate group Salaam Properties.

Citadines City Centre Djibouti is set to open in 2024 with 83 units, with studios, one- and two-bedroom apartments. The place offers amenities such as a gymnasium, meeting rooms, a residents’ lounge and a restaurant.

The new property will introduce Djiboutian residents and visitors to Ascott’s aparthotel concept, complementing the lodging owner-operator’s existing hotel apartment offerings in the African subcontinent, including Nairobi.

Fatima Zahra Muhammad, general manager at Salaam Properties, said: “We are delighted to partner with Ascott, the global expert in the extended stay and serviced apartments segment of the hospitality sector, to introduce the first Citadines in Djibouti.”

Vincent Miccolis, MD for Middle East, Africa, Turkey and India at Ascott, said: “Citadines is one of our most popular brands amongst vibrant travellers across the world, offering guests the flexibility and practicality of a serviced apartment with hotel services and locally influenced experiences. We are confident that Citadines City Centre Djibouti will become a highly sought-after destination for both global and local travellers.”
