Citadines Vienna

Austria: The Ascott Limited has opened Citadines South Vienna, the brand’s first franchise property in Austria.

Owned by c-view, a project operating company specialising in hospitality commercial real estate, the new property is situated in a prime location in the south of Vienna. It was constructed with a focus on sustainability and features a unique lounge concept.

Citadines South Vienna is located in Vienna’s 10th district, also known as Favoriten. The district is known for its architecture, and its position as the ‘gateway to the south’ and the countryside beyond. With its good transport connections, both by car and public transport, the city centre and the local recreation areas on the outskirts of the city are easily accessible. .

The property comprises 48 studios, one- and two- bedroom apartments, some with private balconies. Five different unit types are available, all with fully equipped kitchens, underfloor heating and air conditioning, as well as flat screen televisions.

Amenities include a welcome lounge, a business centre, and a fitness room. Other services include a weekly cleaning service, which can be booked at shorter intervals if desired, a laundry room and 24/7 contactless check-in and check-out through the Discover ASR mobile app. Rates start from €78 per night, for a studio for two people and can be booked via discoverasr.com

In the construction of Citadines South Vienna, the “sustainable and environmentally friendly building material” Ziegelit was used to ensure fire resistance, sound insulation and reduce heat build-up during the summer months. Ziegelit consists of brick chippings, sand, cement and water and bears the IBO test mark, an independent label which certifies that the building meets strict building and ecology requirements. Two electric vehicle charging stations are available in the underground car park as well as designated parking spaces for electric vehicles.

Ngor Houai Lee, Ascott’s managing director for Europe said: “The expansion of Ascott into Austria with a franchise partner is an important step to grow both our European and global network of properties. We see great potential in this market to serve the increasing demand from tourists and business travellers from Europe and further afield visiting Vienna. We are very excited about the opening of Citadines South Vienna. Working with c-view, we were able to get this project off the ground in a short period of time.”

Johny Manavalan, residence manager, Citadines South Vienna added: “We are proud to open the first Citadines Apart’hotel in Austria and look forward to welcoming leisure guests and business travellers to our modern serviced residence. The attractive location of Citadines South Vienna and its excellent connection to the public transport network make the serviced residence an ideal staging ground to explore the historic centre of Vienna or for reaching business appointments conveniently.”
