UK: Beyond Apartments & Aparthotels is partnering with investment management and advisory firm Vengrove to open a new-build aparthotel in York.

The 88-key property will be part of the Roman Quarter, a major mixed-use development anchored by the York Archaeological Trust visitor centre, and also featuring office, retail, residential and leisure uses. The aparthotel will include a restaurant and bar on the fifth floor with views of central York.

Beyond will also manage 153 apartments at the site. It will be working with develop North Star and investment partner Vengrove to build the site to “the highest sustainable standards”.

“We will operate the site to be carbon neutral, low impact and with a strong focus on our ‘Sustainable Wellness’ concept to offer healthy, low toxicity spaces for our guests to rejuvenate, nourish and connect,” said Beyond founder James Fry.

Beyond announced its partnership with investment manager Vengrove in December last year with the aim of becoming “the first sustainable hospitality provider” in the UK.

Fry said at the time that the company has a “mission to create spaces that have a positive impact beyond the communities they serve. This unique and innovative concept goes further than any other hospitality provider in the UK and beyond.”
