UK: The office of letting agency Dunpark, located in Edinburgh New Town, could be transformed into a boutique aparthotel.

Plans submitted to the council would turn the ground and lower floors or the unit in Abercromby Place, into a boutique aparthotel – professionally managed apartments with 24/7 reception and guest facilities.

The hotel would feature a breakfast bar, and it would run in conjunction with the existing residential sales and letting agency.

However, similar plans were rejected by the council in 2023, citing concerns that the development would disrupt neighbouring residential amenities due to noise and disturbance.

The applicants remain optimistic about approval, stating that the council’s planning team has been consulted and that issues raised in the previous proposal have now been addressed.

In a planning statement, the applicants said: “The submitted proposals will provide boutique, quality apart hotel accommodation, helping to meet the existing Dunpark Property Agents customer base whilst also safeguarding the long-terms future of their business operations at Abercromby Place.”
