AUSTRALIA: Event Hospitality and Entertainment (EVENT) has teamed up with Austin Hotels Group Pty Ltd. to manage an aparthotel Sydney’s CBD.

The former Radisson Liverpool Apartments and Suites has been rebranded as Rydges Darling Square Apartment Hotel.

The aparthotel joins other signings this year, including Rydges Perth King Square, The Miller and Rydges Rotorua. Rydges Darling Square Apartment Hotel joins five other Rydges properties in Sydney.

The new aparthotel is located in Sydney’s CBD close to Darling Harbour and the International Convention Centre.

It offers 98 apartments from studios to one and two bed apartments. There is also a restaurant, gym and swimming pool.

Norman Arundel, Event hospitality and entertainment director of hotel and resorts operations said, “EVENT is delighted to add Rydges Darling Square Apartment Hotel to our growing portfolio of hotels and resorts and partner with Austin Hotels Group Pty Ltd. to bring the property to life in the Sydney CBD market. We look forward to working with the incredible local teams to amplify the hotels’ offerings through EVENT’s sales and marketing channels, and providing our guests the unrivalled hotel experience they’ve come to expect from the Rydges brand.”

Yu Dongxiao from Austin Hotels Group Pty Ltd. said: “As this is our first investment in the hotel industry in Australia, we were looking for a local Australian brand that had a strong domestic loyalty footprint and that would work well with the elevated offering that the renovation had created. We therefore knew that Rydges would be an ideal fit. Moreover, we have found the perfect partner in EVENT to represent the property and deliver strong local results. We value EVENT’s personalised local approach to hotel management and we look forward to a strong future partnership together.”

Other plans for an aparthotel in a skyscraper in Sydney’s CBD are also being discussed.
