UK: Collier’s hotels team has brought to market four properties in the St David Aparthotels portfolio, located in central Barrow-in-Furness with “substantial offers” invited.
Colliers is marketing the properties on behalf of Joe Allen and Steve Williams of FRP Advisory Trading Limited, joint administrators. The local operating businesses of each of the four properties have entered formal insolvency proceedings.
St David Aparthotels, the Chester-based management company responsible for the sites, is not entering administration and continues to trade.
The four freehold properties are available as a complete portfolio, individually, or in clusters. The portfolio includes:
- The Terrace – a 14-key aparthotel on Church Street, converted from a row of traditional terraced houses. The aparthotel opened in March and includes a decked courtyard and on-site laundry facilities.
- The Old Lyric Hall – a 19-century building on Clifford Street. The 10-key aparthotel provides predominantly studio accommodation, along with an executive suite and an accessible ground-floor unit. The property opened in January 2025 following a refurbishment in 2024.
- Parade House – an eight-key aparthotel providing self-contained studio accommodation. The property opened in July after a refurbishment and forms the first phase of the wider redevelopment of Copland House.
- The Old Brewery – a 13-key aparthotel occupying a former public house on Cavendish Street. The property was refurbished and opened for business in September 2025 to offer predominantly studio accommodation.
Together, the four properties provide 45 self-contained units, catering to both corporate and leisure guests for short and extended stays. Accommodations incorporate kitchenette facilities and en-suite bathrooms.
“The flexibility to acquire the properties individually, in clusters or as a complete portfolio should appeal toa range of prospective purchasers,” said Julian Troup, head of UK hotels agency at Colliers. “We are anticipating receiving a high volume of interest as these are highly profitable trading assets that still offer potential to further develop the business. The long-term future is enhanced by the sheer volume of business activity in Barrow-in-Furness.”
Allen added: “The St David’s portfolio presents an opportunity to acquire four well-invested aparthotels in central Barrow-in-Furness, either together or individually. The properties have been refurbished to a high standard and are already generating trade, offering prospective purchasers flexibility depending on their investment requirements.”
