NORWAY: Forenom and Real Eiendomsforvaltning have entered a contract with FREYR Battery to provide housing for new employees.

FREYR Battery aims to provide industrial scale clean battery solutions to reduce global emissions. The accommodation for its new employees is in Mo i Rana, in the Helgeland region of Nordland just south of the Arctic Circle.

Birgitte Skjefstad, head of talent acquisition at FREYR said: “To have successful recruitment on the scale that FREYR Battery requires, accommodation will be critical. Without a good place to live it will be hard to acquire the competence needed. We expect several hundred new employees to work in the factory in the next few years, most of whom currently live outside the region.”

Forenom is a leading provider of serviced apartments in the Nordic region with more than 9,000 apartments. The company assists several thousand companies in the Nordics with accommodation for both short and long term stays.

Thomas Ortega, key account manager for FREYR Battery at Forenom said: “We are seeing strong growth and are very satisfied with the agreement we have with FREYR Battery in Mo i Rana and are very much looking forward to establishing ourselves more strongly in Helgeland.”

Juha Hämäläinen, senior project manager at Forenom added: “We have extensive experience with the challenges of accommodating many people in large projects. We are also very pleased to have included Thomas Bohlin and Real Eiendomsforvaltning in the agreement with FREYR on a relocation program in Mo i Rana”.

FREYR Battery has both employees who travel alone and those who move with their families, so all types of accommodation will be relevant.

Forenom recently appointed a new chairman of the board Joachim Hallengren.
