US: A new hotel in Santa Barbara with extended stay options has been approved three years after the application was last reviewed.

The 250-room hotel was given the green light by the Santa Barbara Historic Landmarks Commission.

The site covers 4.5 acres along Garden Street to the train track at Yanonali and will be cleared to make way for the hotel.

The hotel will offer 120 rooms and 130 extended stay rooms as well as a roof deck, bar and lounge.

There will be underground parking for 233 cars with 33 spaces above ground.

Designed by the Cearnal Collective, in keeping with the Spanish heritage of the city, the extended stay and standard rooms are located on opposite wings, allowing for one section of the hotel to be used for short stay guests, and the other for long stay.

The hotel, on the coast side of the train track, will be within easy reach of Stearns Wharf, East Beach and Chase Palm Park.

The Highland Group recently reported US extended stay hotel ADR of 30 per cent as supply growth fell.
