IRAQ: Hyatt Hotels Corporation has opened its Hyatt Regency Erbil Residences in Erbil, Iraq’s Kurdistan capital.

As part of Hyatt’s planned brand expansion in the Middle East, the adjoining 204 room hotel, Hyatt Regency Erbil, is expected to open in 2026.

Both properties are located next to World Trade Centre Erbil, which, as a member of World Trade Centre Associations, acts as a home for a global business network for trade and investment both locally and internationally.

Tarkan Aksoy, general manager at Hyatt Regency Erbil Residences said: “We are incredibly excited to announce the opening of Hyatt Regency Erbil Residences. With a thriving business hub at our doorstep, we are focused on delivering high-quality, energising service to guests, ensuring that they get the most out of their stay in Iraq. With the opening of the residences, we look forward to laying down foundations in the area for the forthcoming Hyatt Regency Erbil, ahead of its expected opening in 2026.”

The Hyatt Regency Erbil Residences offers 93 serviced apartments up to 222 square metres, which include fully equipped kitchenettes and living areas.

The property also has a terrace bar perfect for enjoying shisha and a coffee, or a signature craft cocktail. For meals the Hyatt Regency Ervil Residences features a contemporary brasserie restaurant and for lighter options, a Grab N Go, for drinks, baked goods, salads and sandwiches. Guests at the property can enjoy the gym too.

The serviced apartments are just a minute drive from Erbil International Airport and guests have direct access to Gulan Park’s luxury shopping mall and offices, as well as the area’s local cafes and bars. Erbil’s historic centre, dating back 6,000 years,  is just a few moments away and offers museums, market bazaars and some parks as well as the Erbil Citadel in the heart of the city.

Other openings of note in MEA include the second Hyatt House in Johannesburg.
