INDIA: Araiya Hotels and Resorts has announced it is opening serviced apartments in Dhokawade, Alibaug, south of Mumbai.
The company has signed a management agreement with Earth Weavers Builders & Developers to create a new serviced apartment offering in the popular holiday destination.
The signing marks the sixth Araiya property to be developed in India and its first serviced apartment offering.
Araiya Waterfront, Alibaug, Serviced Apartments by Earthweavers will offer 24 apartments with lake and sea views and the development will open in the summer of 2024.
Araiya Waterfront Alibaug will also feature a restaurant, swimming pool, gym and spa.
Amruda Nair, Araiya Hotels & Resorts, director said: “At Araiya, it is our constant endeavour to introduce new concepts to the Indian travel space and our foray into the serviced apartment category is yet another step in that direction. Alibaug is a well-established second home market and as the destination matures in the luxury segment, we are happy to further strengthen our presence in the market with Rajesh and Earthweavers. With Rajesh’s track record, we look forward to working together to deliver a carefully curated branded service experience.”
It’s not the first time an established hotel group has launched into the extended stay sector for India. In May this year the luxury Oberoi Hotels and Resorts opened its first serviced apartments in the capital.
