UK: West End Apartments has launched in to the Aberdeen serviced apartment market with the opening of five units at Beaconsfield Mews, near Queen’s Road in the West End.
The company is offering one three-bedroom apartment and four two-bedroom apartments. Prices will start from £220 per night, with reduced rates for extended stays.
Company founder Gavin Thain said: “We’ve had a tremendous response from the people who have already stayed at Beaconsfield Mews. We’ve gone for a high-end, luxury finish, with leather, hardwood flooring and stainless steel prevalent throughout the properties. We decided not to compromise on quality from the start and judging by the early feedback we’ve received it’s turned out to be the right decision.”
“We’ve started West End Apartments with an initial five properties at this stage, but we’re hoping to grow the business either by developing our own properties in the city or taking on other high-end accommodation,” added Thain.
Kim Gie, senior interior designer at Aberdeen-based Ten Ten, has created the apartments’ interiors, which feature an open plan kitchen, dining and living space. She said: “When I saw the apartments at our first site meeting, I was drawn to a high end contemporary feel with soft neutral tones using a variety of textures. This created a warm look with minimal colour used only in the bedroom areas. The fusion of the developers’ quality finish is pulled together with French, Italian and local interior design and furniture. The concept is simple yet effective in its implementation.”
Aberdeen traditionally has a high demand for corporate accommodation from oil and gas industry professionals, a market which is being targeted by the city’s serviced apartment operators.
