Brazil: Accor’s Aparthotels Adagio brand has opened its first Brazilian properties, opening seven master franchise aparthotels.

The properties are in São Paulo, Belo Horizonte, Curitiba and Porto Alegre. Adagio plans to expand that number to around 40 within three years.

At the inauguration of an aparthotel in São Paulo last week, Aparthotels Adagio CEO Martine Balouka-Vallette, said: “We want to accompany this growing market and be ready for the key events Brazil is gearing up to host, the 2016 Olympic Games and the 2014 World Cup. We’re confident our Aparthotel Adagio product will meet expectations in Brazil, where this kind of accommodation is in very high demand.”

Aparthotel Adagio says it is also aiming to become the market leader in Russia and the Middle East. It has ten aparthotels under construction, and two will open in Dubai and Abu Dhabi in 2014.
