Ascott signs Kuala Lumpur Citadines property

Malaysia: Setia Awan Group and The Ascott Ltd have entered into an agreement for the management and operations of the Citadines Astrum Ampang Kuala Lumpur.

Citadines Astrum Ampang Kuala Lumpur is part of the Astrum Ampang mixed-use development project by Astrum Ampang Sdn Bhd, which is a subsidiary of Setia Awan Group.

Citadines Astrum Ampang Kuala Lumpur features 230 serviced apartments with facilities including a swimming pool, gymnasium, residents’ lounge, meeting rooms, and food and beverage outlets. It will also have its own dedicated lobby complete with a drop-off area exclusive for patrons. The project is scheduled to open in 2026.

The Ascott’s country general manager for Malaysia Mondi Mecja, said: “Citadines is one of Ascott’s fastest-growing brands globally and the addition of Citadines Astrum Ampang Kuala Lumpur will further strengthen Ascott’s position as one of the largest international lodging owner-operators in Malaysia, providing guests with more accommodation options. It will expand our portfolio to more than 6,200 units across 27 properties in the country.”

Astrum Ampang offers an unobstructed view of the Petronas Twin Towers and is surrounded by landmarks including Gleneagles Medical Centre, Great Eastern Mall, Intermark Mall, Ministry of Defence, as well as numerous businesses, embassies, private and public schools.
