Germany: Ascott has brought its lyf ‘social living brand’ to Frankfurt

The Ascott Limited (Ascott) will open Germany’s first lyf property in Frankfurt’s Eastend neighbourhood this summer, near the European Central Bank (ECB), overlooking the River Main. The property offers 100 rooms, a bar and a restaurant.

Ascott says Eastend is “an up-and-coming Frankfurt neighbourhood”. The property is located directly on the waterfront, has spacious green areas and is close to numerous theatres and other cultural attractions. In addition to various room categories and sizes, lyf Frankfurt will offer its guests the Bond social kitchen, the Connect coworking lounge, a rooftop bar, an additional terrace and a restaurant.

Frédéric Carré, regional general manager UK, Germany, Belgium, Georgia & Spain at The Ascott Limited said: “lyf takes the idea of co-living to a new, higher level – social living. It stands for much more than traditional accommodation, as guests have the opportunity to meet, socialise, cook and experience something together. We are delighted to partner with Art-Invest, a well-known, German real estate developer that owns the lyf building. The design and nature of the current lifestyle hotel with a focus on collective and communal experiences is a unique opportunity for a conversion into a lyf property in one of Germany’s most international cities with residents from more than 175 countries. The metropolis on the river Main is a perfect location for lyf, as this concept is designed to bring people together regardless of their origin or cultural background.”

There are currently more than 30 lyf locations worldwide with more than 5,500 units, which either already welcome guests or, as in Frankfurt, are in the planning stage. In addition to Frankfurt, Ascott has also announced new lyf properties in Sydney, Bali, Tokyo, Penang and Kuala Lumpur. Ascott plans to grow to a total of 150 lyf locations with more than 30,000 units by 2030.
