UK: Sustainable serviced apartment group Beyond Apartments & Aparthotels has opened its second London property in Waterloo.

The apartments are located on the eleventh floor above an office building next to Waterloo train station. Units range from one and two bedrooms offering a mix of river and city views.

During the refurbishment, Beyond partnered with low impact suppliers such as COAT Paints, Kite Flooring and Devon Duvets.

Powered by 100 per cent electricity energy from Green Energy UK, each apartment comes equipped with Nest controls for guests to monitor and manage usage.

Housekeeping rely on chemical free products to clean the apartments, and sheets are washed with Ozone and delivered by electric vehicles. All cosmetic and cleaning products are also refillable with zero waste being sent to landfill.

James Fry, founder of Beyond, said: “At every point Beyond has searched for and put its money where its values lie and made purchasing decisions based upon impact and quality to create something we are delighted to brand as a ‘Beyond’.”

The opening marks the second London location for the group, joining a property in Fitzrovia. Elsewhere in the city Beyond plans to open a third site in the West End comprising a range of one, two and three bedroom apartments.

In the wider UK, Beyond has signed an aparhotel in York in partnership with investment manager Vengrove. The group has also submitted plans for a 17-key aparthotel in Harrogate with a decision soon to be expected in September.
