UK: City Apartments Ltd has announced the acquisition of Atelier House in Greville Street, London EC1.

The property, formerly operated by BridgeStreet, features 24 air-conditioned studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments and is located a minute’s walk from the new Crossrail station at Farringdon.

The property will undergo a comprehensive rolling refurbishment, to include new lighting, beds and furniture as well as technology – 1gb fibre WiFi, smart TVs, full Sky package and free smartphones.

The acquisition will expand City Apartments’ portfolio to more than 200 serviced apartments across nine properties within London’s Square Mile.

City Apartments director David Smith said: “Having known this site from before it was developed back in 2007 and been involved in its original design, it’s very exciting to have secured the property via an acquisition of the freehold for the foreseeable future. We have been struggling, since acquiring Cloth House, 32 serviced apartments just of Aldersgate Street, to find properties in the ECs (EC1,2,3, and 4) for our expansion, that are of an appropriate standard. This one ticks all the boxes, most particularly for location and quality.”
