Portugal: Amsterdam based hotel group City ID will transform the palace Baronesa, located in Largo Conde-Barao in Lisbon, into an 88-room aparthotel.
The 16th century palace Baronesa will become City ID’s first Portuguese aparthotel and the company’s sixth location worldwide. The property will be renovated according to its historical relevance and surroundings. The renovation will also make the aparthotel a sustainable BREEAM classified building.
City ID’s aparthotel will feature 88 apartments ranging from studios to suites. The rooms will include fully equipped kitchens and living spaces that are suitable for short- and long-term stays.
The aparthotel will have a central interior garden that has a full-length swimming pool and an open-plan restaurant. Additional amenities such as City ID’s signature wellness area and communal co-working spaces will also be available.
Palace Baronesa is within walking distance from Bairro Alto and the historic Baixa waterfront.
CEO of City ID Alexander Goad said: “After our locations in Amsterdam, London and Dublin, City ID is expanding into southern Europe with this great acquisition in Lisbon. We will maintain and respect the heritage and features of the fantastic historic building, whilst creating a future proof and sustainable structure. We are thrilled with this new milestone for our international roll out and we are looking forward to the realisation and opening of this location.”
City ID was supported by Morais Leitao, EY, Colliers and Alpha Link in the acquisition process. The seller was represented by CBRE.
