UK: London serviced apartment provider Cuckooz has opened its eighth property, in the Bloomsbury neighbourhood.

Set in a Georgian townhouse on Coptic Street, the one-bedroom and studio apartments have been designed by Kelly Jackson, from Only Child Studio, with fixtures and fittings provided by Conran.

Both have contributed to the creation of the space with a nod to the Bloomsbury Beasts, the eight-foot statues on the St George spire. Each apartment includes bespoke furnishings and illustrations of both the English Lion and Scottish Unicorn and these famous beasts to fit with their prominence around the wider area.

The interiors have been designed to bring Bloomsbury’s rich heritage to life and in addition to the Beasts, they draw inspiration from Gin Lane, the British Museum, the Foundling Museum and the Wellcome Collection.

Apartments feature exposed brick walls, sash windows, Simba mattresses, Netflix and Apple TV, a widescreen TV, underfloor heating, air con and a fully serviced kitchen or kitchenette.

Cuckooz co-founder Charlie Rosier said: “We’re delighted to open our eighth site and bring the Cuckooz concept to the Bloomsbury neighbourhood. We endeavour to put design, comfort and modern living at the forefront of all we do and so it’s important that each neighbourhood we choose to operate in fits the brief. Bloomsbury does just that but it’s also important for us to reflect each individual neighbourhood and its personality, both past and present, in the design and feel of our apartments. By doing so I think we’ve created another beautiful space that acts as the perfect home from home for those working or visiting the area for extended periods of time.”</p
