UK: edyn has launched the Cove serviced apartment brand, and will open the first Cove-branded property in Liverpool.
Cove Paradise Street in Liverpool’s ONE development will feature 77 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments over 60,000 square feet. edyn has signed a 25-year lease with developer Grosvenor for the upper floors of the building, which were previously occupied by BridgeStreet. Urban Outfitters occupies the ground floor.
In total, Cove will open 315 units across nine UK sites this summer. As well as the Liverpool property, eight other sites will be existing Saco properties rebranded and refurbished. Properties that are not part of the initial transformation will continue to operate under the Saco brand and be available to book alongside partner properties on the Saco website.
Three of the sites are in London – in Covent Garden, Cannon Street and St. Martin’s Lane – with others in Reading, Nottingham, Cardiff, Bristol and Manchester. All are expected to be operational by the end of July.
edyn chief executive Stephen McCall said: “We have a tremendous opportunity to evolve and grow edyn in the wake of the pandemic, at a time when flexible, thoughtfully designed accommodation has never been more in demand. Combined with the foresight of our investors behind us and a world-class team leading the brand, the launch of Cove will allow us to transform the traditional serviced apartment model and bolster our portfolio.”
Cove managing director Steven Haag added: “Our signing with Grosvenor on our first Cove in the exciting Liverpool ONE development lays a solid foundation for the launch of the brand, which we’re confident will set a precedent for future Cove openings.”
