UK: Synergy Global Housing has appointed Stephen Hanton as president of its international division, based in London.
Hanton, formerly CEO of SACO, will report to Synergy co-founding partner Henry Luebbert and will be responsible for leading Synergy’s expansion in the EMEA and APAC regions.
Hanton has also served as managing director, EMEA at BridgeStreet and general manager of Hyde Park Residence on London’s Park Lane.
His focus will be to grow the international business outside the US, while Debra Christopher will serve as his counterpart in the US and will be Synergy’s president of the Americas.
“Stephen is coming aboard at an exciting time for Synergy, as we ‘divide and conquer’ with new team members so that we can further develop our global business and integrate with our parent company, The Ascott Limited,” said Luebbert. “I couldn’t be more proud to have Stephen and Debra – two icons in the corporate housing industry – powering the company. Both exceptional leaders have a reputation for building strong teams and driving national and global expansion at the highest level. Their leadership styles are similar – collaborative, great listening skills and the ability to ‘lead from behind’. Working together, these leaders will enable Synergy to deliver on our value proposition, scale globally and serve our clients better than ever before.”
Hanton said: “I am excited to become part of the Synergy team-a team that instinctively believes that success in hospitality starts and ends with happy customers and happy staff. Synergy’s co-founders Henry and Jack are the smartest people in the sector, and I’m honoured to partner with Debra Christopher in our respective parts of the world to bring our extensive collective experience to the table, helping to create an organisation and team that reflect Synergy’s proud culture and ambitions.”</p
