Australia: Hyatt will debut its extended-stay brand Hyatt House in Australia with an opening in Melbourne scheduled for 2025.

Construction is underway on the 97-room Hyatt House South Melbourne. It will form part of the mixed-use Oasis Residences designed by Hayball architects.

Accommodation at Hyatt House will vary from studios to one-bedroom Kitchen Suite apartments complete with kitchen island, refrigerator, stovetop, living room, bedroom and en-suite bathroom.

Amenities will include the H Bar, a 24-hour gym, and communal spaces for working and socialising.

David Udell, group president for Asia Pacific at Hyatt, said: “We are proud to work with Holder East Ltd on the first Hyatt House hotel in Australia.

“The brand brings all the comforts of home to guests who do not just want to stay somewhere, but to live somewhere, even if only for two nights. That means more space for living and working, delivered with flexibility, comfort and thoughtful touches. This exciting milestone also reflects Hyatt’s continued growth of our extended-stay portfolio, enabling guests to experience our signature care in new ways.”

CJ Wu, chief operation officer of Holder East Ltd, added: “Hyatt House South Melbourne will be a vibrant addition to the South Melbourne precinct. The brand’s focus on offering a home away from home experience will make guests feel genuinely at ease with an elevated, spacious, and stylish experience.”
