Ireland: The Maudlins House Hotel in Leinster is looking to create a six-floor extension to its current property.
This would make space for the addition of 70 aparthotel style rooms.
Maudlins House Hotel is a restored Irish country house on the outskirts of the town of Naas in Leinster county which first opened in 2006. The property caters to both business and leisure needs, aiming for a combination of luxury and affordability.
Clare Inn Limited, the hotel’s owners, submitted the planning application to Kildare county earlier this week. The current plans include a meeting room with each individual floor, and a pedestrian link bridge to the existing hotel.
No further statement has come from either the council, the property or its owners as of this time.
The Irish aparthotel market is in a phase of growth at the moment. Project Opera, a €180 million renovation project in Limerick, including aparthotels, was given the go ahead.
Dublin may also see an aparthotel conversion soon. </p
